I would like to look less angry

You at your best

Expressive areas in our face make us appear angry and moody when we ultimately aren’t, causing us to feel self-conscious about our appearance. When the natural proteins within our skin, such as collagen and elastin, decrease as we age. We develop unwanted fine lines and wrinkles that change our resting and animated facial expressions. Our skin thins in areas such as the forehead, around the eyes, and mouth corners to create the appearance of an unpleasant, angry mood even when the muscles beneath the skin are not contracting. These changes visible in our skin are caused by the underlying muscles even when stationary, but deep soft tissue remodelling can be achieved by replenishing lost materials and relaxing the offending muscles.

Appear more open, friendly, and less angry with professional treatment by Professor Jeffry Kashuk. By understanding your individual anatomy, evaluating your needs, and assessing your current skin’s structure, he will evaluate your treatment areas to create a personalised treatment plan.

Each and every patient we encounter has their own unique facial structure which contributes to their personal appearance. By targeting your unique attributes, we can individually perform facial rejuvenation which is particularly suited to you.

How we achieve this

UPPER FACE

This is one of the most prominent regions that causes us to appear angry and unapproachable. This is because beneath the skin and soft tissue of our face lie particularly expressive muscles that contract, causing our thinning skin to develop creases. Such wrinkles in the forehead and between the eyebrows, for example, are softened using medical injections causing them to contract less aggressively.

EYE AREA

Crow’s feet around the eyes are caused by over-expressive muscles beneath thinning skin. When treating moderate crow’s feet, medical line softening injections are particularly effective at addressing these muscles, but severe creases will benefit from volume restoration using finer dermal fillers. This is because what we see on the surface of the skin is the result of far deeper processes beneath, so we address both muscle activity and deeper structure. Fine injections of dermal filler in the tear trough area to assist the eyes in appearing less sunken and morose will also benefit facial restructuring.

NOSE AREA

Small, slightly diagonal wrinkles that crinkle around the bridge of your nose are also expressive muscles that occur when we frown. Pulling your eyebrows together results in a compensatory movement from the muscles closest to your nose, making you appear angry or squinting. Using medical injections in this area to inhibit aggressive muscle contraction, we can limit the creasing of your skin to help you appear more approachable.

MOUTH

The ageing process can cause the corners of your mouth to turn downwards and droop, making you appear angry. This downwards pull occurs because the muscles running adjacent to your mouth corners repeatedly contract, and loss of skin structure in the area can cause loose skin to fall. Medical injections can inhibit this over-expressive pulling down of the mouth’s muscles, and dermal fillers can reinstate structure to soft tissues to stop falling flesh.

Frequently asked questions
  1. What can I expect from my consultation?

Professor Jeffry Kashuk places high importance on individual and personalised consultation and treatment. At your initial consultation, we will explore in great detail your areas of concern, desired results, and therefore what treatments we would recommend. We conduct all of our treatments on an individually assessed basis, so that you are receiving the best treatments tailored only for you.

  2. Which treatments will I need?

Your areas of concern will be discussed with you in detail at your initial consultation. Every patient we see is different, so we don’t just provide generalised treatments. The procedures we carry out are specifically formulated to your unique facial structure, skin quality, and concerns. We do not opt for a ‘quick fix’, but we treat the source of your concerns to provide effective and long-lasting results.

  3. What is dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are made of a substance that closely replicates hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar in the body. This sugar is an essential component in skin laxity, volume, and structure, making this treatment ideal for tissue sculpting and facial restructuring.

  4. What are medical line softening injections?

Line softening injections use a medical toxin approved and regulated for aesthetic uses to soften over-expressive muscles. They inhibit animated muscles from contracting as aggressively and creasing the skin they lie beneath, resulting in smoothed fine lines and wrinkles.

  5. How long will my results last?

Results vary from patient to patient and depend on the treatment area(s) that are best suited to your desired results. When using dermal fillers your results could typically be seen for up to 18 months, and line softening injections typically 4-6.
