Our skin appearing saggy and loose is one of the most prominent features of the ageing process. Skin proteins that contribute to structure and laxity naturally deplete as we age, causing this fallen and saggy appearance. Contrary to popular belief, the sagging and falling of loose skin actually begins in the mid-to-upper face, which pushes the lower tissue downwards into these unwanted folds. Treating these lower facial folds doesn’t address the lack of foundational support in the upper face, which is why we begin from higher facial points and gradually work our way downwards. By following the path of sagging facial tissue and beginning at its origins, we restructure from the foundations to soften the resulting surface folds.
Achieve naturally enhanced facial structure, skin laxity, and youthful volume with professional treatment by Professor Jeffry Kashuk. By appreciating your individual anatomy, beginning from the problem area to address the target area, and working to suit your unique attributes, we will evaluate your needs and devise a personalised treatment plan.
Each and every patient we encounter has their own unique facial structure which contributes to their personal appearance. By targeting your unique attributes, we can individually perform facial rejuvenation which is particularly suited to you.
We typically inject in a minimum of 8 strategic locations when restructuring fallen facial tissue to combat the appearance of a sagging face. Your treatment will include dermal fillers in areas that may include but aren’t limited to the upper cheek, mid cheek, nose-to-mouth area, mouth-to-chin area, and jawline. This is because when our skin sags it falls from the highest point, the upper cheek around our eye socket and cheek bones, down towards our jawline and jowls. Bone resorption and diminished ligament support leads to saggy skin from the high point downwards, so addressing simply the facial tissue on the surface will not achieve the best results for you. Simply treating the jowls without identifying and targeting the root of the sagging will inevitably lead to ineffective treatment, and we always aim to deliver the best results we can for our patients.
For noses that don’t follow a straight line, our treatment can smooth out protrusions while filling in dips and troughs. The treatment creates the illusion of a smooth, streamlined silhouette.
In noses where the tip points down, looks flat or squashed or rounded, and may not ‘project’ correctly, treatment can help lift the nasal tip to give it a better angle and, sometimes, a straighter appearance.
In cases where the nose appears wide, treatment can create a more balanced result by creating elevation on the top of the nose, giving an impression of a slimmer, smaller nose.
Professor Jeffry Kashuk places high importance on individual and personalised consultation and treatment. At your initial consultation, we will explore in great detail your areas of concern and desired results to form an individual treatment plan. This will help us determine where exactly the source of your skin concern is stemming from and which aesthetic treatment materials are necessary to achieve the best results for you.
We always advise a minimum of 8 injections of dermal filler to combat saggy-looking skin. This is because loose skin falls downwards from an origin point, pulling the rest of the facial tissue into folds and out of structure. We begin at this origin point to build a foundation for improved skin laxity, treating the problem and not just the immediate aesthetic concerns. This means you may require more than 8 injections as this will depend on your current skin structure and facial anatomy, though we can talk you through this at your consultation.
Dermal filler is made of a substance that closely resembles hyaluronic acid, a natural bodily sugar that contributes to skin laxity, volume, and firmness. This means that deep tissue restructuring, contouring, and rebalancing volume can be performed safely and effectively with this treatment.
Results vary from patient to patient and depend on the amount of materials required to achieve your optimum results. Typically, you can expect your dermal filler results to last for up to 18 months.
You may feel a slight scratch at each injection point, though this is likened to discomfort rather than pain. All of our treatments are carried out by skilled hands, so they should be efficient, so you should not feel any discomfort for long. For those who experience sensitivity we can provide a topical cooling anaesthetic cream, though we find most of our patients don’t seem to need this.
